The importance of regular dental visits

The importance of regular dental visits

Don’t wait until you are in pain to visit the dental clinic.

The dentist can help you maintain a clean and healthy smile.

Regular visits help us to keep your teeth in tip-top condition.

If you don’t see the dentist regularly you can start to develop problems.

Small holes are easier to fix than big holes!

What are caries?

Caries are what most people call holes or rotten teeth.

Some people may even call them cavities.

Caries can start small and over time they will start to get bigger.

If you don’t visit the dentist, your small holes will become bigger.

The bigger the hole, the closer it gets to the nerve!

If your hole gets close to or enter the nerve canal, you can start to experience pain.

To avoid this happening, you need to see the dentist more often.

The dentist will detect holes when they are small.

Cavities or caries do not fix themselves.

But, I can’t afford the dentist

Dental treatment is not as expensive as you think.

Regular check up and cleans are a fraction of the cost of fillings and extractions.

Prevention is so much cheaper than the cure!

If your child is eligible, you can also access Medicare to pay for treatment.

You can also invest in private health insurance to help with some of the costs.

A lot of dental insurance companies offer great deals!

You may need to shop around to find the best deal for you.

What if I can’t get an appointment?

While our clinic can sometimes be heavily booked, we do make time for all our patients.

You can make an appointment with the dentists or with our oral health therapists.

You will not be waiting extensive periods of time to be seen.

Your teeth are important to us too!

How often should I go to the dentist?

We recommend that you come visit the dentist at least every 6 months.

After 6 months, you may start to get a build up of plaque around your gums.

It is recommended getting any build up cleaned off every 6 months to maintain healthy gums and teeth.

Some caries might be hiding in-between the teeth.

X-rays are important to help find these hidden holes before they become a problem.

Routine X-rays are usually done approximately every 2 years.

Did you know your gums are just as important as your teeth!
