When should I bring my child to the dentist?
It is recommended for children to have their first dental check-up by the age of 2.
This early visit helps familiarise your child with the dental environment, making future visits less intimidating.
JT Dental suggests a gentle approach to introducing children to the dentist, a good habit is to avoid scary phrases like “don’t eat lollies or your teeth will fall out” or “if you don’t brush, you’ll need a big needle to pull out all your teeth.” Such statements can instill fear in children and make them anxious about dental visits.
By starting early and maintaining a positive attitude towards dental care, you can help your child build good oral hygiene habits and a lifelong relationship with dental health.
