Dr Joshua Koh is JT Dentals’ principal dentist. He supports and guides fellow dentists in our dental clinic, as well as providing mentorship in-house with hands on training, observation and practice.
Graduating from the University of Otago with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (Credit) in 2007, Dr Joshua adds to the extensive list of doctors already present in his family.
As a second-generation dentist with a strong family background in healthcare, Joshua undeniably chose the right career path for himself. His father and older brother are both specialist doctors and his mother was also a dentist.
Dr Koh worked in a public hospital in the early years of his career and this is where he refined his skills in oral surgery, in particular, wisdom teeth extractions.
Dentistry is an evolving profession whereupon technology and technique changes over time reflect the needs of the patient.What is considered acceptable yesterday may not be acceptable today.
Dr Joshua Koh has invested in learning about the latest dental procedures such as full mouth rehabilitation to replace multiple teeth with a poor prognosis.
Continuous education evidently sets Dr Joshua apart with his extensive knowledge and skills ranging from placing and restoring dental implants, full mouth rehabilitation and Invisalign, followed by numerous other general and cosmetic dental courses.
Outside of dentistry, Joshua enjoys keeping fit, cooking, property investment, reading a good book and spending time with his family.
He is also an avid soccer fanatic and plays tennis every week.
